Hi friends and welcome! My name is Heifa and I’m so excited you’re here!

I’m the face behind Fufu’s Kitchen. You may be wondering where Fufu came from; it is actually a nickname my dad gave me from adolescence and it stuck even now in my adult years! I was a teacher and cake decorator by profession before I got married and moved to be with my husband in Chicago.

I started this blog to take up a lot of the free time I had as a newlywed in a state unfamiliar to me. I have always had a passion for cooking and baking so it seemed like a wonderful idea to share my enthusiasm for the kitchen with others.

Of course, my Palestinian background has plenty to do with the foods I favor and the importance of creating a meal for those you love. Growing up in a Middle Eastern household; our day was often centered around food; specifically traditional Arabic cuisine. To mix things up; I started cooking dishes from different regions and my family really enjoyed it. Cooking and baking for my family and friends is my way of showing them how much I care for them.

Through my blog; you will see simple recipes that have flavors from all around the world that are super delicious with a healthy twist since my husband and I are huge advocates on health and fitness. I also have a sensitivity to dairy and gluten and many of my recipes cater to those sensitivites. My aspiration for this blog is to show people that tasty and nutritious food is easy to make. If I can do it then I am positive you can too!

By the way, my husband is the tech master behind this food blog and I’m the content creator taking the pretty pictures and recipe development!

I would love to see you make these dishes and let me know what you think! Please feel free to comment, make recommendations for recipes you would like to see, and please share my recipes with friends and family. You can also follow my Instagram page and subscribe to know when the latest recipe is posted. I hope you enjoy my food blog!
