Cajun Creamy Pasta
Hey friends! Do I got an easy and delicious recipe to share with you! This cajun creamy pasta is the perfect quick weeknight meal. It is so full of flavor and luscious; trust me you will not get enough. I am a big fan of pasta but I don’t eat it too often. Every now and then I like to indulge and this is one of my favorite ways to enjoy it.
This cajun creamy pasta was actually was inspired by Cheesecake Factory’s Louisiana Pasta when I came up with this recipe. That was the pasta dish my friends and I would almost always get when we dined there and I miss those days! So, I thought let me make something quite similar now that it has been on my mind. I also know you will thoroughly enjoy it!
It isn’t as spicy as it may sound but you can always play around with the heat level to make it more personalized to your preference. Also, this pasta is fantastic with some chicken breast or shrimp if you would like that added protein to the meal. But regardless, it is still hearty and filling. I personally like to enjoy it as is. I love those bits of bell pepper in there too. YUM!

Cajun Creamy Pasta
- 12 oz Bowtie Pasta cooked
- 2 tbsp Butter melted
- 1.5 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Chicken Broth/Stock or veggie stock
- 1/3 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1.5 tbsp Corn starch
- 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- Sprinkle of Red pepper flakes
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
- 1 Bell pepper (not green) thinly sliced or chopped
- 4 Garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 Red onion thinly sliced or chopped
- Parsley for garnish chopped
- In a pot, add the heavy cream, stock, and starch along with the seasonings and parmesan cheese. Mix together well while cold. Then bring this to a light boil then simmer.
- In a pan, add the butter with the garlic, onions, and bell peppers and cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly tender and lightly browned.
- Mix the veggie mixture into the pasta sauce and allow to cook together on medium high heat for 3-5 minutes. Sauce should be slightly thickened at this point.
- Add the cooked bowtie pasta that has been drained to the pasta sauce and mix together. Plate this creamy pasta and garnish with some chopped parsley. Enjoy as is or with chicken or shrimp!
Made this tonight for dinner with blackened shrimp. It was so delicious! I made it dairy free by swapping the butter for olive oil, the cream for silk half and half, and the parmesan for nutritional yeast. It was a great, quick and delicious weeknight meal – my whole family loved it!
Cajun creamy pasta wow wow wow 10/10 thank you for sharing
I made this recipe last week and I conveninetly had all ingredients on hand! It was creamy, spicy perfection 🙂 I added some extra hot peppers and seared chicken breasts to go with it. So delicious! 🙂
This recipe was amazing!! My family loved it and said it was better than the one at cheesecake 😄 thank you so much!
This recipe is amazing. I added shrimp to the veggie pan for about 2 min and then added it all together and omg. I have been missing the Cheesecake Factory dish and now I know how to make it! Lol.
Very delicious. I made my own Cajun spice mix and shrimp with it.. it was a hit!
Just made this last night for my family and it was a bit ! The first thing my husband said was “wow this reminds me of the pasta I like from Cheesecake Factory , but better !”
I halved the whipping cream and put more broth instead for less calories and it was still great ! I paired it with deep fried shrimp.
Love hearing that!!! and great idea to cut down by using more broth!
Tried this recipe and it was so delicious!!! Can’t wait to try other recipes!
I love this recipe! its my second time making it, and I am sure there will be more.
I made this pasta recently and paired it with shrimps and I was so impressed! I made a big pot and my husband and kids loved it so much! We made enough for two days but we almost had it all in one day!
Oh! I love it paired with shrimp; great choice. Happy to hear it was enjoyed by all!
Absolutely loved this recipe! So creamy and spicy! I made this with my fiancé through FaceTime and we we were both successful in making a beautiful and easy iftar! Thanks, Haifa 🙂
I love that!!! Thanks for the lovely review!
Made this for iftar last week and paired it with Parmesean Herb Crusted chicken. WOW it was delicious! The heat was perfect for my husband and I (a tad too spicy for my kids but next time I plan to separate some of the cream sauce for them before adding the red pepper flakes). It was so easy to prepare and versatile for different protein additions or as a flavorful side! Its definitely going to be a regular for us!
So happy you liked it!1 Love the addition of an herb-crusted chicken, yum!
This dish was a hit in my family! Everyone is asking me for the recipe. We like spicy so It worked out well but if you don’t make sure to cut down on the chili pepper or just leave it out. ☺️
Happy to hear!!
I really wanted to try this. Can this be made without Parmesan? How I can adjust the recipe if I don’t have Parmesan?
Hi! This can most definitely be made without Parmesan cheese. Maybe, add a tiny bit more of corn starch to thicken the sauce and feel free to add shredded cheese of your choice too if you like.
This is a dish you make when you are in love! The creaminess and taste if this pasta remind you of the butterflies you had when you first met your loved one!
Also, it’s super easy to make so it’s a win win situation! Thank you for the delish recipe
