Dates are a fantastic naturally sweetened fruit! They are so versatile and can be enjoyed both sweet and savory with many applications. In this case, I stuffed dates 5 ways that will surely make for the perfect bite! These stuffed dates have made for such a healthy snack to keep on hand in our fridge especially post-workout! These are also visually appealing and fun to make for guests, especially during Ramadan where dates are consumed daily for an extra source of energy.

Dates come in all kinds of varieties like Ajwa, Sukkari, Deglet Noor, and Medjool which happens to be my favorite. For most of my date recipes. I use Medjool dates as they are plump, have lots of flesh, and perfectly sweet. Dates on their own are fantastic but stuffing them not only is fun and visually appealing but also super tasty. These stuffed dates 5 ways are easily customizable and give your guests a variety to choose from!

I used Natural Delights Whole Fresh Medjool Dates for this recipe as the serve as the perfect vehicle to stuff. I do not have to worry about any pesticides, additives, or added sugar with Natural Delights Dates and they can be found easily in most supermarkets!

Baklava inspired stuffed dates: Walnuts, Honey, and Orange Blossom Water

Nutella Stuffed Dates: Hazelnut spread and crushed hazelnuts

Almond Stuffed Dates: Creamy Almond butter and fresh raw almonds drizzled with chocolate

Tropical Stuffed Dates: Sweetened Cream cheese, Orange Zest, and Coconut flakes

Tahini Pistachio Stuffed Dates: Raw Pistachios drizzled with Tahini Paste

Ingredients

Nut Butter Dream

  • 5 Natural Delights Whole Medjool dates, sliced lengthwise & pitted
  • 5 tbsp Creamy Almond Butter
  • 15 Whole Almonds halved or slivered works too
  • 1/4 cup Melted Chocolate Any chocolate variety will do

Nutella Heaven

  • 5 Natural Delights Whole Medjool dates, sliced lengthwise & pitted
  • 5 tbsp Nutella (Hazelnut Spread)
  • 1/4 cup Crushed Hazelnuts

Tropicana

  • 5 Natural Delights Whole Medjool dates, sliced lengthwise & pitted
  • 1/4 cup Cream cheese, room temp.
  • 1 tbsp Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Orange Zest
  • 4 tbsp Coconut Flakes

Baklava Inspired

  • 5 Natural Delights Whole Medjool dates, sliced lengthwise & pitted
  • 1/4 cup Crushed Walnuts
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Orange Blossom Water
  • Pinch of Cinnamon

Halva Inspired

  • 5 Natural Delights Whole Medjool dates, sliced lengthwise & pitted
  • 1/4 cup Crushed Pistachios
  • 1/4 cup Tahini Paste

Instructions

Nut Butter Date Assembly

  • Place a tbsp of the creamy almond butter in each date. Then, stuff with a few raw almonds in each date. Drizzle with melted chocolate.

Nutella Date Assembly

  • Place a tbsp of nutella in each date. Then, top with the crushed hazelnuts.

Tropicana Date Assembly

  • Whip together the cream cheese with powdered sugar, orange zest, and orange juice. Add a tbsp of this into each date then top with coconut flakes.

Baklava Date Assembly

  • Mix together the crushed walnuts, honey, cinnamon and orange blossom water. Add a tbsp of filling into each date.

Halva Date Assembly

  • Add crushed pistachios into the dates then drizzle with tahini paste.

Notes

These are best made fresh and kept room temperature covered for no more than 2 days.
If refrigerated, they will harden and not be as pleasant to eat.

    Such a yummy and easy recipe to follow! Great for Ramadan guests. I absolutely loved the nut butter (I love almonds!) and my guests loved the Nutella stuffed dates.
