Servings: 6 crunch wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 3 tbsp Beef or Vegetable Stock
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning (chili powder, onion & garlic powder, cumin, salt & pepper) or 2-3 tbsp of taco seasoning
  • 8 Large Flour Tortillos
  • 6 Tostados or (tortilla chips)
  • 1 cup Queso Cheese Sauce
  • 1 cup Pico De Gallo or tomatoes
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Beans and Lettuce optional

Instructions

  • In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, add the pound of ground beef with the taco seasoning and tomato paste. Cook, while breaking down the meat into fine bits.
  • Add the stock to the meat mixture and continue breaking it down into fine pieces. It will almost resemble sloppy joe meat. Slightly saucy from the stock but fine pieces of ground beef. Set aside once browned. This shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
  • Now, let's make smaller cuts of the flour tortilla by using 2 of the large ones. Either do this by using a 4-inch cookie cutter or by cutting around the tostada to create the perfect shape and size. Set those aside.
  • To assemble, lay the large flour tortilla. In the center, add a heft smear of sour cream. Top that off with a scoop of the ground meat. Make sure it covers the center and the cream.
  • Then, top with the tostada. Add 2 tbsp of queso cheese sauce on top of that. At this point, sprinkle some lettuce if you want and the pico de gallo or tomatoes.
  • Add a handful of Shredded cheese on top of that. Add the smaller cut of the flour tortilla on top of the cheese which should be in the center of the tortilla.
  • Now, tightly fold the large tortilla's edges toward the center creating pleats.
  • Quickly, place the crunch wrap into a lightly oiled skillet seam side down. Let this sear on medium heat for 5 minutes on each side until it is golden brown and crispy. Cut in half and serve immediately as is or with some guacamole and sour cream. repeat with the remaining tortillas. Enjoy!

Honestly these were so good and surprisingly so easy to make! For the crunch in the middle I cut out a circle from one of the torillas and air fried it for about 4 minutes and it was perfect. I’m thinking of maybe using Doritos or chips next time for the crunch. Thanks for the recipe Fufu!

I tried making it last week and it’s seriously soooo good! My husband and I devoured it. I love how flexible you can be with the recipe. We made homemade queso and used pita chips for the crunch part and it was seriously divine. Thanks for such an awesome recipe!

These were so easy to make and so, so delicious. I didn’t have taco seasoning and opted to use one diced onion, 1 tbsp of chili powder, 1 tbsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of cumin, and 1/2 tsp of salt and pepper. Definitely much better than Taco Bell!

This was an absolute hit at home. My neighbors heard I was making it, so I shared the goods and it was all they raved about! Still can’t believe I was able to bring this to life.

Thanks to Heifa’s simple and detailed instructions. I made the pico de Gallo since I didn’t have any on deck and also had to make the nacho cheese. I would recommend to purchase those to save on time but either or works!

Squeeze some lime on it and the robust of flavors are bomb. Can’t wait to make this again and wow the rest of my family. Thank you Heifa!!

This recipe is so simple, easy to follow and tastes amaze-balls!

I substituted the beef for soy chorizo (hubby is going through a vegan phase).

      Soo delish!

Then again all your recipes are really good and I’m finding it so fun to make the dishes on your blog – my 11 year old son loves to watch your step by step stories and help out!

      Thank you for sharing Heifa!

A simple and easy to follow recipe packed with a ton of flavor. I tweaked it a little by adding my beef to some sautéd some onions and garlic and threw in a dash of habanero chili powder. My husband absolutely loved it as well and I’ve been sending the recipe to friends and family. Absolutely delicious!!!

  • Eman

I cannot wait to try this! How much of each spice do you recommend adding to the ground beef? I hope to make this tonight if I have an answer in time 🙂

I am officially addicted! This is so so much better than Taco Bell and you don’t feel sick after. I mixed my sour cream with garlic powder, cayenne powder, hot sauce, and salt & pepper. Also, I think if you buy the large and small soft tortillas, it would work also. Rather than wasting a whole large tortilla (when closing the crunchwrap). This way, you can make so many more crunch wraps! This is the only way I’ll be eating tacos from now on. Thanks!!
